An alternative to Hallowe’en

A group of Coventry churches are looking to celebrate a DIFFERENT view on October 31st! Here’s what they are saying…

As an alternative to Hallowe’en – a night that celebrates darkness – we celebrate the light of the world (Jesus) and the hope that he brings. We usually hold a popular light party but this year we are doing things differently! A number of churches (at least 16) around the city will be displaying pictures of light in their windows. You need to find out which picture is displayed in at least 10 of the churches to complete the trail. The pictures will be displayed from 24th Oct – 31st Oct, so you have the whole half term week to complete the trail.
If you complete the trail you will be able to collect a goody bag* from Queens Road Baptist Church car park on Saturday 31st October (2-4pm).
Nearer the time you will be able to view (and download) the list of churches taking part, a map and a trail sheet activity pack, on the Queens Road Website (www.qrbc.co.uk).
[You do not need to download these items to take part, you are welcome to just write down the pictures and where you found them.]
Not just for children – although we are offering goody bags to the children we hope that all ages will get out there and complete the trail, we are keen to hear your stories afterwards.
*Goody bags are available while stocks last and are aimed at primary school children. They are not suitable for those under 3 years due to small parts.
