It was great to be able to celebrate with Lucy on Wednesday 25th September as she received her Robert Lundie Memorial Award.
The award – £100 that Lucy has chosen to spend on something exciting for Girls’ Brigade members, plus a certificate, a voucher for Lucy herself and a chocolate medal – was presented by Richard Knott, Synod Youth Development Worker in the United Reformed Church.
Girls’ Brigade leaders and two members with their parents were joined by our Minister, Rev. Debbie Brown and members of Lucy’s family.
The United Reformed Church award is designed to spotlight and celebrate individuals using their God-given skills, time and talents to good effect within their church, their community, their URC synod or even nationally. Seventeen-year-old Lucy has contributed to 7th Coventry Girls’ Brigade Company by planning and leading badgework, organising new games and craft and supporting Team Leader, Karen Adams. Lucy’s passion for Girls’ Brigade – the wearing of uniform, the living to our motto and our respect and care for each other is contagious – she is an asset to 7th Coventry and the award is well deserved.
