Christmas Gifts for the homeless

On Tuesday 22nd December, Ministers Bill and Debbie, along with Elders Sue and Jill, handed a consignment of Christmas gift bags containing toiletries to a team from the Salvation Army Life House in Wyken. Many thanks to Sue who co-ordinated this project, to Elders Jill and Margaret who received donations along with Sue, and to all who donated gifts to make this possible.

Ann Campbell, Facilities Administration Coordinator for the Salvation Army at Axholme House emailed :

On behalf of The Salvation Army l would like to say a big “Thank You” for the kind donations we collected from Holyhead Road United Reformed Church. Thank you to everyone who organised/donated items, it has been overwhelming, especially with the restrictions placed upon us with COVID19! These gifts will be distributed to homeless people who access our service and will make a difference to the lives of others, especially at Christmas. This can be a difficult time for people who are homeless, not having a home of their own or a family to celebrate with. However, these lovely gift bags will help lift their spirits…so l thank you for thinking of us.

Merry Christmas…God Bless
